Red hot. This last Monday was one of the coldest nights in Chicago except at the Metro, where the atmosphere was Nigerian red hot. The reason? Afrobeat star Femi Kuti was in the house raising the temperature with his exciting music, colorful outfits and powerful dancers. A decent-sized crowd defied the chilling weather and showed up to see the Nigerian singer. Pure booty shaking for an hour or more would get anybody hot, and we all needed that! Femi played some of his new material and told a very interesting version of the Genesis (in which God is not masculine and an erectile dysfunction pill plays a decisive role in the story). All in all, it was worth to get out of the house to go to this concert. If you don’t believe me, here are some pictures of the show to prove it:
