Annual International House Festival of Nations.

FESTIVAL OF NATIONS 2010
A global carnival for the campus and community.

Cost: $5 admission before 2 PM. $10 afterwards. Free for I-House residents with proper identification.
Children under 12 get in FREE.

What: Enjoy a wide range of performances and food from across the globe while donating to an important cause. ALL ADMISSION PROCEEDS for this event will go to UChicago for Haiti relief efforts. This year’s performing artists include:

– THE MIGHTY SPARROW
– GINGARTE CAPOEIRA
– DUKATI
– SOUTH ASIAN STUDENTS ASSOCIATION
– MIDDLE EASTERN DANCE TROUPE
– BALKANSKI IGRI
– TAMBOULA
– ANILA SINHA FOUNDATION DANCE GROUP
– HOOKED ON DRUMS
– TRIO DE CARNIVAL
– FITZGERALD’S MARTIAL ARTS

When: Doors open at 12:30 PM on Sunday, May 23.

1 – 3 PM: Cultural performances and activities + international food booths.

3 – 5 PM: Trinidadian musician and calypso legend THE MIGHTY SPARROW: dance concert featuring lively Caribbean sounds from a historic artist.

7 – 9 PM: FREE Middle Eastern Music Ensemble Concert.
